Many people wonder what's up with Albel's prosthetic, clawed gauntlet. Some think that Albel just uses it to cover his burned arm completely; others think Albel has no arm underneath it. But which of the two is it?
The truth is all stated in the dictionary, the part that is added after you got the Crimson Scourge. It says that Albel failed his Ascension of the Flame ceremony, and lost his father AND his left arm in the progress. In addition, I've seen many people wonder where Albel got his claw from, how it makes gestures and how part of his arm is seen. First, it appears the upper part of his arm is still intact; the claw is attached to it after all. This leaves the question on how such an under-developed land like Airyglyph acquired such technology. My guess would be Greeton. We don't really know what technology they DO have, but they are at least more advanced then any of the lands on Gait. They can make robots as we can see in Suferio, so why not a prosthetic claw? The claw could be attached to his nerves, or some symbology could've been used for it to move. I don't think there's actually still an arm underneath that gauntlet though, since the dictionary clearly states he lost it. I think it's something like the prosthetic limbs made in the anime/manga Full Metal Alchemist. One of the main characters, Edward Elric, has a prosthetic arm and leg.
By the way, if you look closely to the 2P outfit-render, you can see some of his scars just above the gauntlet.
