Albel's fighting style is a modified version of the Edarl style swordfighting which the main character of Star Ocean 1 used. Proof of this is that most of Albel's moves are exact mimics of the ones that Ratix used. Plus, if you examine the bookcases in one of the houses in arias, you'll see that it has books named after the Edarl Sword Style, and in Woltars mansion you can find books that explain the special techniques from Star Ocean 1 which Dragon Roar would be learned from.
